Soda and Wood Whiskey Sipper #4

$50.00

Fired in a special soda kiln, these cups are truly one of a kind. During the firing, a mixture of soda ash and water is sprayed into the kiln at 2275 degrees and, as it swirls around with the path of the flame, glazes the pots and creates dramatic effects. The firing ends with an addition of wood which gives the gray sheen. Check out this slideshow to better understand the process.
In addition to the soda, these pieces are water etched which create relief patterns and textures.
This cup is the perfect size for wine, whiskey, or a latte. It is dishwasher safe and microwave safe.

3 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" wide, holds approx. 12oz
